Ponder this... Every week Matt and I do the Wal-Mart shopping together. Well, with the boys-which makes for an interesting trip everytime. Anyway... Every week when we get ready to leave I am just parched. The drinks in the coolers by the checkout are just calling my name. Sometimes it hits me before this point and I want to get a juice or a chocolate milk in the back of the store. But, it NEVER fails, I am ALWAYS thirsty at Wal-Mart. Matt is really not one to purchase drinks or pull through Sonic for just a drink(too tight I guess). He just usually would rather wait till he gets home to get a drink. However, I am almost always able to talk him into splitting a drink with me after the trip because he is thirsty too! He likes to make fun of me for thinking this, but I really think he agrees with me, he just won't admit it. We all know casinos pump oxygen into them to keep you going. My theory is that Wal-Mart sucks the moisture out of the air so that you will be so thirsty when you leave you will give them ONE MORE DOLLAR and buy a drink on your way out. So I ask this??? Does going to Wal-Mart make you thirsty too?

I love dance. I love to dance and I love to watch dancing. This was a popular video that went around a while back, but I recently happened upon it again and thought I would add it to my blog. Enjoy!

Hippity Hoppity Easter

The boys on Easter morning before church. They are at a stage where it is nearly impossible to get a good picture of the two of them together, especially under such time constraints as trying to get to church on time.

Checking out the loot on Easter morning. Can you believe that rabbit ate that whole carrot and hid all our eggs in the back yard???

On the hunt at Mom Tom and Big Mac's house~Matt's parents. Big Mac planned out the hunt and each kid had their own spot to hunt. Rhett was really into it. He was speedy quick getting all of his eggs gathered. You had to talk Grant into picking up every one. Even then, Rhett had to come help him get the rest. They had lots of fun even in the chill.

We had a Easter egg hunt and brunch at church on Saturday. We got to take pictures with the EB and our Pepaw even got to come to town too. Pepaw got a hotel room so that he and Rhett could have a sleepover and a swimming party the night before. We had a great time and dad came in pretty handy at the egg hunt too!

Maybe next year will be a little warmer. Did you know that this Easter was and will be the earliest Easter will be until the year 2228? A little trivia for you.

Building an ark

The rains came down and the floods came up...
I thought we were going to have to build an ark this week. The White River got out of its' banks higher than I have ever seen it. Those who were around refer back to the flood of "82. Although, this wasn't apparently quite as bad. The water did not cover the bridge, but sure was close. There were more people out driving around for a couple of days just looking at the water. Our sitter lives across the river, so I had to cross several times over the course of the flood stage. It was very interesting to see how quickly the water came up and to what level, and then how quickly it went back down. It really was quite amazing.

I am participating in the Fitness Challenge at work. This consists of participating in and logging in 30 minutes of physical activity per week. I think it really helps motivate me because I am held accountable in some sense-Although all I think it will do is drop me out of the system, but hey, it works for me. Anyway, I have been going to bootcamp for 2 weeks now, once a week. I keep thinking I am going a second time, but I just haven't gone again yet. So far, I am just sticking to my Wednesday night class. I did however attend my first ever yoga class yesterday and I loved it. Just as I suspected, I did get the giggles a couple of times, but was able to calm myself down. Those of you who know me well, know that when I get started, it is nearly impossible for me to stop myself. I have had to literally get up and leave church for this reason MANY times in my life. It was so calming. I will for sure be going back again. Hey, I might even purchase me my own yoga mat instead of borrowing the instructor's extras. If I really get wild about it, I might even get myself a yoga bag. I even know a great place to get one-I'll call you Abby! http://www.itsbagnificent.com/
That will be me in the picture one day.

We had all kinds of fun this weekend.
Friday was just an all out good day. I got to go to kindergarten registration Friday afternoon, and that in itself made my day. Just getting to participate in something that really gets me back to where I want to be "teaching wise" made me happy for the day.
Saturday, Matt went and did the four-wheeler thing with one of his friends. They said they were putting out something for some animal, but really I think they were just playing and actually I could really care less. Because, at this house the saying translates to: When the cats away, the mice will.........sleep. I love the days when I just get to curl up with the boys and take a nap. When the guys got back into town, the two of our families got together at our house to watch the HOGS and play Wii, one of my new obsessions. After a few rounds of Dance Dance Revolution, we took to a round of bowling and a little tennis. The real entertainment was the little boys boxing. I wish I had a video of them because the picture really doesn't do justice. Their arms were going at it full speed ahead. Several knockouts were had by both! Spiderman (see picture above) gets lots of practice, but he really loves it when he gets to box a real person instead of the computer-he wears us out!
Sunday, we had a birthday party in the afternoon for one of Rhett's buddies. They had a bounce house and a big slide. All of the kids had a blast and even a few adults partook in the festivities. Both boys loved the bounce house and the slide, but Grant really loved the slide. Oh yea, I got a nap today too. Matt is such a great husband. He did the Wal-Mart shopping for the week, so that I could lay down and take a nap. I really think he knew one of us needed to go to Wal-Mart and if it was me, he would be stuck at home bored, so he would might as well go himself. Whatever the reason, I still consider it a nice gesture. Thanks Mattie!

SNOW DAY!

No school today!

(Tuesday, March 4th~I thought I better get this one up since we will be out tomorrow too---probably)

I was laying in bed this morning trying to go back to sleep after listening to the radio to see if we were going to have school and sending Matt off to work when my cell rang. I thougt it was probably my sister in law calling to tell me that we didn't have school and I already knew so I wasn't even going to get up to answer it-Sorry Laura~the truth comes out. Then, the home phone rang and since it was right by the bed, I didn't that that required too much effort so I answered it. It was a friend of ours whose kids are the same age as our two and she was in need of someone to keep her two for the day. Since she was bring breakfast, I said sure. Just kidding-LB-they could have come anyway. Anyway, they got here about 8 and the boys had a ball. We played in the snow and when Matt got home he built a snowman with the older two. They had a blast making our "breast cancer awareness" snow woman. It was a little wild at times, what do you expect with two 3 year olds and two 16 month olds. They did all nap at the same time-whew! Looks like we are in for more snow-so probably more of the same tomorrow!

Sad Week in Daytime Television

It all began around the 7th grade when my best friend (yes, Mitzi, it is your fault) got me hooked to Days of Our Lives. We would talk on the phone everyday for the duration of the show and I would ask, "How do they go together? What happend to him/her? What is going on?" Days of our lives is my guilty obsession. I watch it during the summer and any vacations I get off from school. Remarkably enough, I can always manage to get right back into it and not have too hard a time figuring out what is going on. Well, last Thursday, when I was home with the boys, there was a plane crash. The crash could have happened on Wednesday, but it was still happening on Thursday (you know daytime tv-a meal can last 3 days sometimes), and it occurred to me that I could DVR it and watch Friday's show later. This in turn got me to realizing that I could DVR it everyday and watch them later too. So, I set up the tv to record the show every day. Some days I came home and watched it while my kiddos were having their afterschool snack and some days I watched it later. Now my plan is to watch all of the recorded shows during thier nap on Saturday or Sunday. They are really only about 20-25 minutes of actual show in there. The rest is commercials-what a rip off. So, now that you know the why, I will tell you the sad part............................................................................... Shawn Brady DIED. It was awful, but so heroic. He did by giving up his oxygen mask in the plane crash so that his family could live because there wasn't enough for everyone. I mean really... Could two people not have shared a mask? Did one person really make that big of a difference in the amount of oxygen each person got? Could they not have told eachother to just breath slowly? I guess if he was retiring, they had to kill him off somehow and that was as noble a way as any to do it. Anyhow, I cried like a baby during the funeral. You would have thought he was my own Pop (as they called him), and that he was a real person the way I was acting. You really do feel like you know those people after keeping up with them for so long. Well, when this turns into too much of an obsession for me, I guess I will have to quit recording it, but for now it works! I have already set the tv up to record LOST this week because SOMEHOW I forgot to watch last week and didn't remember unitl 8:30. This week if I forget again, I will be able to pick up and watch then. I can almost guarantee you I won't forget again. But, thanks for catching me up in the middle mom! I gotta know, Mitzi, do you still watch?

Back to the grindstone

We finally got back into our routine today. BOTH boys have had one of the many illnesses going around for 6 days. High fevers, terrible coughs, runny/stopped up noses, Rhett~pink eye, and Grant~a new found allergy to Amoxicillin were the ailments of the house. Both were tested for the flu and both came back negative. Thank goodness. We did a lot of snuggling, watching tv, taking baths, and drinking juice-since neither one would eat a thing. They went back to the Dr. yesterday and got the all clear to return to our daily lives. We were oh so happy to be out of the house. I thought it would never end.

I'm an Aunt~again!

Yep! You read right, Sara FINALLY popped. After riding out a tornado in their basement ALONE, past due, nearly a week later gave birth. I am the proud aunt to:

Landon Joe

Isn't he a doll! I did NOT make it to the hospital in time, but I did get to be the 1st overnight hospital help. Matt thought I might come home with "baby fever", but after being up all night, I am happy just the way we are~sleepers! I took the boys the next weekend to visit and meet their cousin. Grant was absolutely in love. He wanted to hold him and would try to drag him into his lap. Rhett was content to talk to him and pat him on the head. We had a great time unitl a remnant leaning tree from the tornado took out the power on its way to mine and my mom's cars at 5:oo am. Luckily, not much more than a few scratches to mine. Sorry mom! In the picute above, Grant says, "Hey, didn't this used to be mine. I think I'll get in."
